The Music Department will
present the ACC Vocal Ensem
ble. conducted by Robert
Daniel, in a program of Christ

10th at 8:00 p.m. at the First
United Methodist Church of
Wilson. Charles Rakow will
accompany the program.
The Ensemble will open with
a group of Renaissance pieces
by Michael Praetorius. Sung in
German and Latin, this group
will include the very popular
“Lo, how a Rose e’er Bloom
ing.” The performance will
continue with the final chorus
from J. S. Bach’s Motet I and
Benjamin Britten’s Jubilate
Deo. The Britten, written in
1961, is to be sung in English
with organ accompaniment. The
following group, a set of Christ
mas carols by Alfred Burt, was
originally concieved by the

however, these pieces were
published due to their popular

very familiar seasonal carols,
several of which represent dif

are “He is Born” of French
origin, “Fum, fum, fum,” a
spanish carol, as well as “0
Come, Emmanuel” and
“Angels We Have Heard On
High.”
The 28-voice Ensemble con
sists mainly of voice majors
within the Music Department at
ACC. They make many concert
appearance held on campus and
in the community. They also
appear as representatives of the
college on the annual “Christ
mas Carousel” broadcasts
over WITN-TV. This year the
Ensemble will also accompany
the ACC Choir on its January

Georgia, and Florida.
The program is open to the
public with no admission
charge.
